The registry of the Court is open to the public every day from 8.30 to 12.30 and from 13:30 to 16:00 (1st Royal Decree of August 10, 2001 fixing the days and hours of opening of the clerks of the courts and tribunals).
The secretariat of the public prosecutor’s department is reachable by phone every working day from 8:30 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 16:00.
The hearings start at 9:30 unless otherwise stated.
If the Court gives its ruling after the registry has closed, the parties or their attorneys can get in touch with the secretariat of the public prosecutor’s department before 17:00 to get information about the content of the ruling.
If you have a question related to a pending procedure before the Court, you can consult the list of cases scheduled under the "Ongoing Cases" section or contact the Court of Cassation's registry, providing your question and, if possible, the following details: the date of the appeal for cassation, the parties involved, the date and case number of the contested decision, and the court that issued it. If your question pertains to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Cassation, you can contact them directly, specifying the aforementioned details.
You should consult the judiciary database, Juportal. If the decision is not listed in the database, you can request a copy of the judgment from the court (or the Court). However, for privacy reasons, the court may decide not to fulfill your request.
You can contact a lawyer through the website of the lawyers at the Court of Cassation, the website of the Dutch-speaking Bar Association, and the website of the French- and German-speaking Bar Associations.
